This is the EC built Flywheel Cover for the Briggs Model 28, Model 31, and Model 33 Single Cylinder Engines.
The Blower Housing or Flywheel Cover prevents debris from entering the flywheel areas. This is to prevent damaging the engine and to prevent harm or injury. It also keeps the air circulating towards the engine rather than escaping from the top.
