The 605K Rear Steer U-Build-It Kit provides many components to build your own rear steer front axle for racing lawnmowers and other small engine vehicles.Â
All you should need is a front beam, tie rods, and drag links with the accompanying hardware to build axles to your desired specs. If you are running USLMRA or ARMA, we recommend using one of our front axles built to the spec of those class rules.
Rear Steer Spindle is most commonly built for FX or Outlaw class race mower to use boxed frames and lower ride height than the more traditional Prepared-Style Chassis that require the use of a stock lawnmower chassis. This setup resembles a go-kart steering system with two tie rods connecting to the steering shaft’s pitman arm. The rear-steer means the tie rods are behind the rear of the front axle.Â
These spindles do not come ready for front brakes. You’ll need to notch the spindle axes for a brake key to set them up for front brakes. The axles are standard 5/8″ and will use 5/8″ front hubs.
