The Tillotson 72mm or what is known as the 225 blocks and the Tillotson 76mm or 3″ block does not have the front tank mounts for a traditional top plate linkage.
The idea behind this is to distinguish the Tillotson racing engines from other industrial engine blocks. Without the tank mounts, the Tillotson engine gains a cleaner, more efficient curb appeal.
The 225RS and most modified engines using aftermarket slide and diaphragm carburetors only need a top plate for mounting the fuel pump, which we also carry under the LK-157 part number. But with the growing popularity of a stock appearing class, these blocks need a way to run linkage for a stock style carburetor.
Here at EC, we designed a top plate linkage kit that works well with stock appearing carburetors. To make the top plate look better with the engine, we made it with a low profile similar to the stock top plate and anodized it black. Since the top plate fits lower on the engine, we added spacers for mounting a fuel pump. Fuel Pump is sold separately.
